Located at 550 Brooks Woolsey Road in Fayetteville, Georgia, our property focuses on establishing a sustainable and relaxing atmosphere for our boarders and their equine companions to enjoy. We are a laid-back family-friendly private facility that gives you the freedom of boarding your horse without the struggles of owning your own land. As a small and private location, we give you the privacy and flexibility of personal horse care, without the stress and high expectations of a show barn. We focus on quality over quantity, and aim to provide a comforting and nurturing boarding experience for your companions. Our stable features acres of pastures that follow a pasture rotation schedule to ensure optimal grass growth and sustainablity. We also have bathrooms with a changing room and trailer parking onsite. The barn includes concreted stalls with mats, feed room, office/tack room, storage areas, and workroom with a private door leading to a fenced washrack area that is concreted and matted. Boarders can train their horses using either the grass riding arena or the round pen onsite. They are also free to ride on our wooded cool down loop, a maintained 1/4 mile trail through woodlands of the property.
Barn Manager
Ashley Tillman Reeves
Ashley graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture in Equine Production and Management. Growing up on a small equestrian farm in south Georgia, her passion for equine care started young, with most of her youth was focused on rodeo events. She became enamored with the planning and science behind training, and took her swing at breaking and training her own horses in her late teens. In college, she worked on various nutrition, training, lameness, and exercise research projects, as well as did a training internship with the University of Georgia. She began to branch out of her discipline and try her hand at English riding for a few years, and while she loved the thrill of jumping and the complexity of dressage, she will always have a passion for western riding. Over the years she has worked at various barns with all different focuses and disciplines, as well as given lessons to a variety of riders in order to grow her expertise.
Ashley worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 2 years and is comfortable spotting and dealing with a variety of injuries and assisting in medical care. Post-college she worked for UGA studying and testing feeds and forages for equine and bovine species and their nutritional compounds. She also helped create custom nutrition plans to meet their goals and nutritional needs. This gave her a strong understanding of the importance of pasture and herd management. She also helped establish an Equestrian facility at a local resort offering lessons, trail riding, training, and more before coming to work for Southern Crescent Stables. She has now joined our team with her faithful companion Rocky, a barn favorite, and loves bringing her family out to this laid back and private oasis.
